Statistical techniques are used to construct [[Scientific Model|models]] that predict future [[Event|events]]. **Descriptive** statistics is a set of techniques, tools, and methods, used to summarise, organise, and present data. **Inferential** statistics is a set of methods of using samples to obtain information about a population. Statistics should be meaningful (significant quantity that represents reality), and useful (conclusion may be used to change outcomes of events).
